Tested on these systems, but it is expected to work on other Office versions, including Office 2024, Office 2021, Office 2019, Office 2016, and Office 2013. It supports both 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Office.

Using the OpenAI API Service with the Word-GPT Add-in

The Word-GPT VSTO add-in uses the OpenAI API service for text processing and provides advanced AI functionalities. To use the add-in, you need to have an active user account on the OpenAI platform (openai.com). The process is as follows:

  • Register on the OpenAI platform: Create an account on the OpenAI platform if you don’t already have one.
  • Deposit funds: OpenAI charges for its services based on tokens used. Deposit the required amount of money into your OpenAI account.
  • Create a project and generate an API key: After registering, create a project on the OpenAI platform and generate your secret API key.
  • Enter the key into the add-in: In the settings of the Word-GPT VSTO add-in, enter the API key to enable communication with the OpenAI service.

This system provides users with flexibility and complete control over costs, as you only pay for actual usage of the OpenAI service.
